I'm just furnishing a new self-catering flat. It has one double bedroom. Should I make a cot available plus/or a bed-chair that opens into a single bed (eg for a child)? The location is very rural. If I don't provide these things, am I likely to be restricting possible Bookings?
The advice of experienced providers of self-catering would be much appreciated.

Yes, our self-catering sounds similar. Supply a cot / high-chair if requested. Make the sofa a sofa bed (but restrict it's use to 'one well-behaved' child). I would say about 25% of our bookings for self-catering with one double room relate to a couple with one child.

I have one double bed and a sofa bed. QIT told me that as we are 4* we must not offer the accommodation as suitable for 4 people as a sofa bed is not acceptable in a 4* let. I do not mention the sofa bed now but do say 'travel cot and toddler bed available on request'
I have a proper travel cot and a lovely little blow up toddler bed that is a bit like a dinghy so they can't fall out. I think it's better than the sofa bed. Guests certainly appreciate them.
