We're relaxed about people dropping by to see their friends who are staying with us, and spending a some time in their room, but all non residents must be off the premises by 10pm.

Cheers,

Martin.

As long as they discussed it with me first, I'd hope to be able to say yes, but it would depend on a) whether or not I liked them, b) when they wanted to be here and c) how many people.

Not allowed by me - the guests in your house you know who they are and where they come from and if you have their card details you have them by the scruff of the neck nad they are insured as your guests. You can always quote Insurance or Elth and Safety to stop it. There are plenty of pubs to meet friends in - when I'm on holiday I meet them at a public watering hole etc. Picking up and dropping off guest by family etc., is fine of course but I don't encourage them to linger.
