I ask this question because as avisit britain member i have a room with a 4ft6in double bed in but against the wall...Under thier terms i cannot sell it as a double room..so we sell it as a superior single as alot of single people at home have a double bed & it gives guests more comfort.I supose in a way i am open to abuse of this by some guests.

So my quetion is when the room has been booked on a 2nt stay as a single & i can hear the moans & groans from obviously the guy bringing a woman back or they could have planed to sneak the extra person in when booking..what actually does anyone reccommend ??
What is best practise
1...go straight to the room stating the the booking policy asking them to leave at 4am..disturbing other guests.
2...wait till morning & address the issue asking for extra payment for the other person..but then would you let the single person stay on for thier 2nd night if they pay another single price..

My husband's attitude is if they pay the extra he's not botherd...my attitude is if they abuse my rules in the 1st place they are not the type of guest i want staying so i would ask them to leave as what they paid for the single for 2nts has covered its use as a double for the 1nt.

Any avise on tactics please ??

I would charge the extra for the current stay and not have them back.

Cheers,

Martin.

I would charge the extra for the first night stay but not allow them to stay for the second night.

You're a guest house, they are guests, regardless of the amount of physical contact they have! charge for the pair of them and welcome them for the second night, because that just halved your laundry cost! and do remember to smile.

Agggh!
I had this problem with a young man staying-he also smoked in my non-smoking room and clogged my toilet (yukville). The money isn't worth it! I tell him we're full when he rings now, I hope he doesn't cotton on to Eviivo-another disadvantage - you can't vet the guests!
