Good-bad entertainment-well it depends upon your view of "reality" television.Mine after watching the first of the new series is a poor overall impresion of our industry. Now I know others will say that guests will take such bad impressions with a pinch of salt, but many will not and discuss it widely with friends!
We had the 4 star, silver award owners claiming to be the best in Oxfordshire-what no 5 star accommodation in the county? OK a bit of excess ego, but they really tried hard for example, putting older non-disabled guests in a disabled room and after being asked to move them, next morning put a large bright yellow hearing amplifier on their breakfast table, having spotted that gentleman used a hearing aid !
But the worst was the lady owner of a non-assessed ,aptly named Donkey Hill B&B in Wales, who set out to wreak her worst vengence upon VB 5 star guest house owners who dared to complain of finding hairs from her dog actually in the bed when they stayed at her farm! What followed would put anyone, but the thickest skinned visiting any UK guest accommodation. Appalling behaviour and quite unpleasant comments from the lady in question,I only hope she cringed after watching the series-though I doubt it she would even realise what an awful person she came over as being.
So what do other members think- reality television is here to stay-future programmes may give a better impression of our industry-or do we just accept that there are some B&B owners out there who cannot accept any form of criticism without becoming the sort of person that a VB Inspector would walk out on !

My parents told me this was on - I hadn't spotted it at such a (for me) obscure time of day. The first series obviously didn't impress as this was tucked away at tea time every weekday, not a good time for B&B owners to watch. Maybe that was the point?

I think Joe Public knows that reality shows attract the freak show in every industry ours is no different.

I think it is appalling and you must be mad to go on it.
The more recent series are getting progressively worse.
A local B&B to us went on it and said the producers filmed them for 48 hours straight and badgered them to make comments, criticisms or off the wall opinions. They used about 30 seconds of the worst examples filmed at 2am in the morning!
The TV company is out to make a splash - why be their victim.
