Can we start a thread to keep people up to date with the switch to White Label booking systems by Government Tourism Authorities in their area. It should be coming soon to your area (especially in an era of austerity). Your local TIC will switch from their current New Mind / New Vision system to a white label one. What that means to you is that rather than your TIC accepting availability data only from Eviivo/Guestline, they will be able to accept data from any XML capable system just like you were linking into Booking.com or any other commercial site. Our region is at this very moment implementing the New Vision system...

I now see that if we use another Property Management system, our region's system Guestlink can be updated with up-to-date pricing and availability automatically for £15 + VAT a year. Seems a bit pricey when you consider that you can buy a basic complete self-catering PMS for £55 + VAT a year and other advertiser's sites will do this for free.

Having spoken to my 'local data manager' it looks like this is going to be a long winded affair. They are still signed up to New Mind for another three years so that
a) accommodation provider details will still be held on the New Mind system
b) availability data will still be collected via New Mind for the TICs.

Which means that I will have to manually maintain this system for the present.

On the bright side I understand that IBEX will noe connect with the VB site soon.
