Hi I am new to the forum, we run 2 self catering cottages and wondered if anyone else has any problems with guests rubbish and recycling.
As councils have started there reycling policies we added 3 section bins in each property along with a genaral rubbish bin. We clearly state what each section is for and provide the bags and clear instructions.
As we are advertised as a green option this isnt to much to ask.
No matter what we seem to do some guests obvoiusly make no attempt to recycle which means we have to go through the bins and sort out the glass, tin, and plastic. Not a nice job, we have just had some guests leave yesterday and they had 3 small children they looked very respectable nice car well turned out but we found the property in a discusting state. Yoghurt all over the leather sofas, they must have worked all week to pick off the anti slip coating on the decking steps. Un bagged nappys in all the recycling bins along with half filled tins of beans sticky sweets not just in the general bin but in every compartment of the recycling.
Not to mention the bathroom the broken kettle and 11 bags of rubbish for just a 7 night stay.
We have notices in each property politly asking guests to leave the poperty tidy to empty bins and make sure dishes are washed before they vacate.
Has anyone else added terms to the conditions in respect of the refuge left. I was thinking of abide by our terms of recycling or take it away with you, everything seems so hard to inforce.
Many Thanks in advance
