We have recently installed gas central heating to our apartments with the boiler located in the owners accommodation.Non of the apartments used for holiday letting are supplied with gas. Do we have to have the annual gas inspection and certificate for the boiler?

For your own safety, you ought to have the boiler serviced and maintained, regardless of whether you legally need to. I can't imagine it would cost very much extra to produce the certificate.
The other question you have to ask is if there were to be a gas leak/explosion in the owner's property, would it injure the occupants of the apartments?

Thanks Andrew, and of course you are correct re the importance of a safety check on our boiler which we have carried out annually. I suppose the question was really about the need for a certificate. We will ask our engineer about this so we are covered should the Inspector ask to see it.

You need a gas certificate from a registered Corgi engineer before you open any rented, letting or serviced accommodation.
