Caravan holidays are seeing a resurgence as young parents feel the effect of the credit crunch and look to their own childhood memories of caravanning for holiday inspiration.
A recent National Caravan Council report shows a 20% rise in camping site bookings for July and August, while Haven Holidays have seen a 30% rise in bookings.
Hoseasons Holiday chief executive Richard Carrick said: 'We have seen a real boost in booking figures over the last couple of months and the strength of the euro is having a really positive impact on UK bookings.
'In the last two weeks alone we have seen a 15% increase in booking figures even though May is already a traditionally busy period, and this is definitely a result of holiday makers looking closer to home for better value breaks. Caravan holidays on UK parks fit the bill perfectly.'
