Due to the success of three events organised in November, People 1st, the sector skills council for hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism, has decided to hold another seven similar events across the country in January next year.
The roadshow events have been specifically developed to provide employers in the sector the opportunity to learn more about Train to Gain funding – and how they can benefit from it – as well as to take part in free training workshops tailored to the industry.
The People 1st masterclasses will cover one of two subjects, and employers can choose which workshop to attend; either the Focus on Marketing Masterclass or the Customer Services Masterclass.
The first workshop is particularly aimed at SME employers who will learn how to put together a cost-effective marketing plan. The workshop will also tell them about the latest trends in new customer capture and retention techniques. The second workshop was developed following consultation with industry experts from both the UK and overseas as well as with over 2000 businesses of varying sizes within the UK, looking at the best customer service practices in the sector.
The workshops are also an opportunity for employers to meet their local skills advisors and will allow them to find out more about how they can benefit from Government-funded training and other People 1st initiatives.
The first workshop in January will be held on the 13th with six more taking place during the month. More information and a booking form can be found at http://www.people1st-events.co.uk.
