VisitBritain has unveiled its new website aimed at consumers that covers all aspects of tourism in the UK, including a tool to help visitors find the right accommodation for them.
The new website makes full use of social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook as well as online video and personalised content. The search engine for accommodation allows visitors to the website to search for what they need according to different criteria and covers Hotels, Bed and Breakfasts (B&Bs) and Apartments; Self Catering Accommodation; Caravan, Camping and Holidays Parks; and Hostel and Campus Accommodation.
The website aims to combine both the inspirational and functional aspects of planning a holiday in order to facilitate the task to consumers. Therefore, the site offers both the possibility to look for specific accommodation according to area or, for instance, a monument; and at the same time offers plenty of pictures, videos and additional information (such as holidaying on a budget and accessible accommodation) to help consumers who have no specific destination in mind to choose one.
