On July 1st 2007, England introduced a new law to make virtually all enclosed public places and workplaces in England smoke free. Under the Health Act 2006, smoking will be banned in enclosed public spaces and places of work, with some exemptions.

Accommodation providers employing foreign workers need to make sure that they have permission to work here before they start working. Employees from certain Eastern European countries need to also register with the Home Office’s Worker Registration Scheme.
